Cineworld Cheltenham Opens it Doors

Some good news for me who likes movies

Cineworld Cheltenham opened its doors to the public on Friday March 24th 2006. The eleven-screen cinema with seating capacity of 2000 on Henrietta Street/St Margaret’s Road will offer increased film choice for the residents of Cheltenham and the surrounding area. Cinemagoers will be able to enjoy everything from traditional blockbusters and UK independent productions to film festival winners and foreign language films.

The celebrations kicked off with a champagne lunch on Tuesday 21 March when Cineworld’s CEO, Steve Wiener, and Mayor Brian Chaplin officially cut the ribbon and opened the cinema to industry guests, local VIPs and those involved in the project.

Cinema Manager, Jason Bainbridge, said: “It’s really exciting to be involved with a cinema launch especially at a time when there are some great movies to look forward to. These include Ice Age 2: The Meltdown, which sees the return of Manny, Sid and Diego in another fun filled adventure. We can also enjoy Mission Impossible III with Tom Cruise returning as the popular super-agent Ethan Hunt and the long-awaited Da Vinci Code starring Tom Hanks as symbologist Robert Langdon who tries to solve the enigmatic riddle of the Da Vinci paintings.”

The Cineworld Unlimited card will be available at Cheltenham and represents excellent value for money, allowing the cardholder to see as many films as they like, at any Cineworld cinema at any time . The monthy Unlimited card is priced at £10.99 (excludes London West-End) and £13.99 (inclusive of London West-End). This tempting offer students will leave Odeon Cinema with there £4.30 per film rate for us poorstudents - well i know i would be going to Cineworld now .

Cineworld Cheltenham will also offer a number of special, regular features including the popular Movies for Juniors Saturday kids club offering games and a film for only £1; Monday Classic at 1pm, a matinee show including a hot drink and biscuits, plus the Wednesday Special, which provides an opportunity to watch 'blockbusters' that may have been missed the first time around as well as smaller films that may not have received a wide release.

Talking about 24 - Season 5 Trailer

I just seen the American Season 5 trailer. like Season 4 i seen the trailer to that as well. no idea Jack died in series 4 i think chase dies late series 3 early series 4 i can't remember if he was on the semilcast

In the UK BSkyB owns the rights to 24. BSkyB is a company of Sky of which is apart of News CORP which Fox linked to so they issued the UK rights fairly giving it to a member of there own group - before having Sky Three and Freeview i was that Sky would not allow the BBC the rights to show series 3 as they did with the first 2.

In the UK Sky shows 24 on Sky One - it started showing series 4 to its Digital Satellite service within a few weeks of the US show but due to the nature of torrants and file sharing people over in europe got to watch some series 4 before it was on Sky One = Sky flagship Channel. Other Television services in the UK have been only able to watch series 1 and 2 before Sky Three came to Freeview with the expense of Sky Travel as Sky wanted to offer a service to its highly competive rival DTT service called Freeview but not show Sky One - it also wanted to Show 24 and other US show aquired rights without the new users missing a series. - series 3 - shown on sky one over 2 years ago is now shown on Saturdays with double bills Premire between 9-11pm this is to last about 12 weeks since begining of November so will end jan or feb 2006 when series 4 is supposely to be shown. - i only seen the first 2hrs of this show when Sky done a publicity stunt by showing it simicasted on Freeview on Sky Travel at the time.

So Series 5 this is likely to go to Sky One on or just after the US Transmission and likely there be other ways to get it also. Sky Three users will likely get it in the second 1/2 of 2006. From how i writing i bet you could guess i am a DTT Freeview user and watch Sky Three's Series 3 coverage!

SU Halloween Party

The SU had its annual Halloween Party yesterday night there was a best fancy dress compitition that sadly i did not win - but hey i never win. hardly any guys dressed up. and the most common fancy dress was a devil but there were some angels around as well. as well as other fancy dress some guys did go in fancy dress there were a couple of guys in black and with scream mask there was no murders like the scream trilogy though luckily so no evil presidence over the uni last night. I was a vampire i had tomato kechup to pretend as human blood but there was no human blood used. The best fancy dressed award went to a guy who was in frankinstein costume. the next celebration is Guy Faulkes on November 5th although there are some small halloween parties planed for Monday!

Roberto was evicted (his departing whould not be missed that much). asshame it was not Derek he must be happy with himself hopes he going next week . voting was rather close. we do have 3 new housemates to be entertained with

New Housemates Orlaith 26 and from Belfast. she was 2nd in the Miss Northern Ireland in 1999 and is currently 'Belfast's Model Of The Year'. She loves exercising and is a keen boxer but hates spiders and self-obsessed people . Orlaith claims her idol is Marilyn Monroe.

Eugene is 27 from Crawley. he likes electronics but has a phobia of water tanks *gives him water tanks for xmas ). He would love to meet Terry Wogan and is a member of a radio club. In his spare time, Eugene enjoys throwing TVs off cliffs to record the sound they make (poor TV's ). He is a virgin and an Atheist and is currently learning to fly.

Kinga is 20 from London and loves making people laugh but also admits to being a "two faced bitch." Half Polish, half Kuwaiti, she once worked in a bar... and fell flat on her face while serving. She is afraid of rats and snakes, believes in ghosts and has met Jennifer Lopez.

i like to probe lol. only be visting Channel 4 and DS:BB though they probe more

I was Correct that i could see housemates coming and was hoping for serveral shame it not 10 though to replace them all (but 3 is ok). highly likely most will be female to curve the female decline as they facing 3 weeks approx to an all male house

Sam my favorite housemate left big brother . So now not watching Big Brother UK only watching Big brother Australia then i watch BB USA. All the UK housemates left are *insert loads of random profanity* and i hate them all. NONE DERSERVE to win and ALL are HORRIBLE

In the rewards room Michelle comments how it was funny country boy Glenn won the country fair Friday night challenge. Glenn says: "I had a feeling I was going to win this weekend."

"I think it's fate," Michelle says: "I'm not going to be here on Sunday."

The HMs have headed to the bedroom leaving Tim and Rachael talking on the couch. Tim tells her: "People just want to fight with you now. That's all I can say."

Rachael isn't pleased at the though but comments: "I'm a tough cookie."

Hotdogs wanders past to go to the diary room. The pair ask him what he's going in for and, talking to Rachael he jokes: "I'm going in to talk about you."

Rachael, realising he is joking, replies: "He's one of the nice ones, there's not many of them."

Tim joins Hotdogs and they both head into the diary room while Rachael goes back to the bedroom. In the bedroom Christie does impressions of the male models from the film Zoolander. Vesna and Rachael teach Christie some stripping and dance moves.

0:51 AEST (+9 to BST) Tim, Hotdogs, David and Greg head to the spa and talk about tasks and living on staples.

In the bedroom the HMs, particularly Christie, try on Vesna's jewellery and accessories. Tim and Hotdogs return from the diary room. They start telling on their negotiations with BB, Tim says: "We lectured him on the industrial revolution and sanitation."

Hotdogs adds: "We tried to negotiate getting drunk in the diary room."

Tim, Hotdogs, David and Greg head to the spa. They begin talking about the toilet roll situation and the HMs insistence on betting 100% on tasks. The guys are annoyed that some people who vote for 100% complain when the task is failed. They claim Christie and Geneva are the main culprits of this.

Hotdogs says: "The way certain people in this house use can't, what they mean to say is they dislike."

In the reward room Glenn and Michelle share a kiss on the bed.

On a personal front the Trivia i got 190 with 2 quizes to do (at Day 35 that is there quite a few more to come )

Today we had wonderful news that bullying thug Lesley has gone from the UK Big Brother House . I happy for Sam that Lesley gone Lesley was making her life hell. i could say more about Lesley but i be libal to prosecution.

Big Brother Eviction Show's is on E4 over the weekend

On Digital Spy they some members have created a thread called 'Messages for Lesley' visit to see or leave a message

Craig and Derek are favorites to go next. Craig because his assocalation and bitchness with Lesley behind peoples back (including Sam). Derek is is favorite after his thursday Ch4 show angry outburst thats now labeled him a women hater and secrets of his past being found out by some. Channel 4 had to close it forum late thursday cause of it. Sam is not that popular that much either but she my favorite housemate at the moment and been since the start. i warmed to her afer craig Derek, Lelsey and to a lower degree vanessa been crual to her (Sam).

The Next eviction is Friday June 17th. Nominations are casted on Tuesday - Hopefully Craig and Derek follow lelsey. I personally whould be happy if they go all 3 are evil people that should not be there!

Top Up TV announce and launch new channel

Top Up TV have today finally sheaded a light what they have done to replace the vacant space on Top Up TV where E4 used to be before coming to Freeview. Top Up TV have decided to launch British Eurosport from today asap - OMG i leave my personal view about this to the end but with quite alot of users on Top Up TV are rather angry as Sky One, Living TV, Paromount, FX, or Film 4 is not in the choice. serveral forum users on digital Spy forums said recently that if its not Sky One or Living TV they unsubscribe. there is some users that do not like Eurosport and would not prefer to pay for a sports channel. Top Up TV is not going to cater for everyone i want x channel as there not the space. also all the channels on Top UP TV is Timeshared therefore you do not watch the whole channel only when Top Up TV has schuduled it. If there is a programme that started at 11:55am for a 12-4pm slot you miss the first 5mins. the same if some show or programme ended afterwards.

Time will tell if Top UP TV will fall. E4 going Free to air seems to have caught them by surprise.

Comment: Eurosport what utter trash a 4th channel to add to its 11 channel line up that is going to be trash.

Bloomberg - its a business finance channel get sky if its a business its not a to watch at home channel

Television X - OMG Top Up TV's xrated channel grrr at least it not as bad as the Freeview Channel that Red Hot use ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. if a person need this get a partner and then you not need it

UKTV Style is the pay version of lets face it UKTV Bright Ideas on Freeview and what a waste of TV space that is

Eurosport - have top up TV seen Five during the night, Channel 4 when it shows sport, ITV 1 and 2 sport and BBC when it shows sport there is already enough sport on TV and Top UP TV calls Sport a niche market OMG. and if a person wants to watch 2 premier league teams they got Sky Sports on Sky. A second go at Eurosport i not a sporty person and do not like to watch it. since when has Eurosport fitted into Entertainment the genre of E4 - never Top Up TV is deberately getting rid of its customers by chosing a new genre

Big Brother UK Starts

Big Brother has started and its offical Jamie goes mad time . with the first ability to type after big brother has started i writing this i rearranged my room a little so i can what TV and also type so i apologise if i make mistakes.

Big Brother started on Channel 4 at 9pm with Big Brother Interactive on Ch 705 starting at 9:10 there is 13 housemates with Matosi electing herself as the unlucky housemate who has to be the most unpopular in the house to stay and big brother has promised the unlucky housemate would have a hell of a time and when i mean hell it would be hell but its good she does not know though

If i hear an Crazy Frog advert i might get with steam coming out my head. i have my opinions and have on first impressions my favorites is Samantha, Vanessa, Saskia.

Day 1, 22:45

Thirteen excited Housemates stepped into the House for the very first time tonight and could hardly contain themselves.

First in was 40-year-old speechwriter Derek, "Ooh, gosh. Very swish," said the foxhunting Tory as he gazed in wonder at the House's new décor. "Very posh."

Next in, wearing a PVC nurse's uniform, was Lesley, a 19-year-old Yorkshire dance student, who says she doesn't get on with girls very well. "Oh my f***ing God," she uttered as she entered.

Highly-sexed Sam was next in. The 23-year-old Surrey marketing student swanned in wearing a floaty white summer dress. By the time she arrived, Derek and Lesley were already guzzling champagne.

The flirting started as soon as 24-year-old Maxwell walked in and Sam introduced herself.

"You are bang in trouble, Sam," said the Londoner, hinting at ideas of his own.

Vanessa, a 19-year-old business student, who describes herself as a "bitch" was next up, but she was all hugs when she met her new Housemates.

Disco king Anthony followed. He milked the crowd but admitted he was incredibly nervous as he introduced himself.

And then there was Roberto, destined to be called an Italian stallion for the rest of his life, who stepped in showing off his chest and sending a few knees weak.

Zimbabwe-orn Makosi, a cardiac nurse, was next, wearing a stunning orange dress and told the House she' neglected to wear any knickers.

Then there was Craig, a 20-year-old mullet-loving hairdresser who promised to stir things up. But on entering he was sweetness and light saying "Hi" to everyone.

When Mary, a self proclaimed psychic and white witch, arrived she wore a black cape and carried a broomstick. But she'd ditched them both for a sober green dress by the time she entered the House.

Science, who describes himself as an entertainment entrepreneur, reckons he's an icon already and introduced himself as "Science the great".

Next Saskia sashayed in and got plenty of attention from the guys.

And lastly, an entrance and a half from Kemal, a belly dancer, originally from Turkey. Wearing gold stilettos and a beautiful red and gold dress and shroud, complete with train and full make up. "I'm Kemal baby. Is this the House?" he said.

Yes, it is. And it's back with the promise of plenty fireworks...

Britt Goodwin, English by birth, has won the joint Norweigan-Swedish version of Big Brother.The 22-year-old, who spent 99 days in the house, moved to Norway as a child. She still holds a British passport. Britt ultimately garnered more votes then her Swedish rival, 25-year-old Tina Kling, to claim the champion's title of the first cross-country series in the Nordic region.

I know what i be upto on 19th June coming home to Bristol or nursing a handover after the summer ball on June 18th the Saturday so i be busy.

Just seen on the T4 Website T4 Pop Beach 2005 event to be in Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset 25 Miles South of my home . To be exact thats my vacation home not uni you might want to add 50 miles on top to get to my uni town .

GWR FM Group that has the musicradio.com websites and Core: Fresh Hits for the UK has made quite a serious error i sure Bristol and WSM people might not like

'T4 on the Beach is back.

Following last year's explosive second event, this year looks set to be even bigger and better than ever.

The biggest beach party this summer will take place in Weston-Super-Mare, Bristol, on Sunday 19th June following last year's success.

Comment: since when has Bristol grown 25 miles at least along the North Somerset coastline even T4 refers it as Somerset that technical start between Brean Down and Uphill (a few miles south) although is taken less a offence as being called Bristol. Bristol rules all the Former Avon Area (that seized to exist in April 1996) at least to GWR FM Group and T4 from Channel 4 For them here is how it stands living there all my life the area is now replaced of Local Authorities: South Gloucestershire, Bath and NE Somerset (BNES), North Somerset, City and County of Bristol.

The outside show on the beach features a brilliant line up of some of T4's favourite bands.

This year will see the new look of T4, combining some of the coolest names mixed in with some of pop's favourite acts.

The names to be announced so far are: Garbage, Kaiser Chiefs, Rachel Stevens, Rooster and Goldie Lookin' Chain - , Lemar, The Doves, Mario, Mylo, and Feeder.

Hosted by T4's very own dynamic team June Sarpong, Vernon Kay, Steve Jones, the event will be broadcast live for 2 1/2 hours on Channel 4 on Sunday 19th June.

Last year performances from Jamelia, Lemar, McFly, Sugababes and Emma Bunton and Blazin' Squad drew crowds of over 30,000 along with new bands Speedway and Goldfrapp.

Channel 4 announces E4 on Freeview to stay on LCN 14 and E4 +1 to be LCN 39 from May 27th. Top Up TV changes status is unknown with particularly UKTV Food and Bloomberg (TUTV Timeshare Channels) that share the E4 Topup TV Stream let by Ch4 to Topup TV

Channel 4 has confirmed some details about the sixth series of Big Brother but is keeping many of the precise elements under wraps. DS:BB presents a full roundup.

Housemates
- No confirmed number of housemates from Channel 4 today
- Executive Producer Sharon Powers: "There is no ‘identikit’ housemate that we set out to find. When someone has that something extra, whatever that might be, they genuinely stand out from the thousands of applicants. The audition process comprises of many stages over a few months, which allows us to get to know potential housemates as much as we possibly can. Ultimately we try to choose people who have what it takes to entertain the public all summer."

The House
- The BB house has been "completely redesigned," and has been created by house designer Patrick Watson "to look aspirational"
- C4 promises house will be "difficult place to live in, especially as it is as small as last year’s house"
- Executive Producer Sharon Powers: "The house has been totally redesigned, but it’s still as small as BB5 even though the feel of it will be completely different. We want it to look aspirational and sumptuous to the viewers, but for the housemates it will soon prove to be uncomfortable and claustrophobic."
- Commissioning Editor Angela Jain: "To viewers the house will look like the kind of place you’d love to live in, but to the housemates the things they initially liked about it will become the things they find the most oppressive. The house will feel very different to any previous house and more than ever this year there really is nowhere to hide."

Assuming the rumours are true, that leaves the UK as the only serious possibility during the Big Brother Australia 6 Run; although any switch would only occur at least several weeks after the UK series begins.

Concrete information about the next series of Big Brother has finally begun to surface.The first glimpse of the BB6 eye (pictured BELOW) was released to the tabloid press on Saturday ahead of the launch of the onscreen idents later in the evening.Curiously, the eye has been given the title 'shattered,' leading to some speculation that the new series could incorporate some elements from the 2004 reality series of the same name.The dual nature of the logo has also sparked rumours that there could actually be two Big Brother houses this year - an idea previously put into practice in Australia.What do you think? This year's show will last for a total of eleven weeks, The Sun claimed on Saturday.

The duration is one week longer than series 5 in 2004, which itself was one week more than the prior nine-week standard.

With a start date confirmed for Friday, May 27, the news means that series six will now finish on Friday, August 12

British Channel Channel 4 will take entertainment station E4 free-to-air on Freeview at the end of May, it has been announced.

In a move that is a surprise, the broadcaster Channel 4 also confirmed that timeshift channel E4+1 would be launching on DTT at the same time.

Comment: TBH do not see the point of +1 +2 etc channels

Plans to turn the pay TV channel into a free offering were first outlined earlier this year as part of a "long-term" digital strategy. Now the plans have been brought forward in time for the sixth series of Big Brother, which broadcasts around-the-clock on E4.

Comment: Late may here we come Big Brother 6 UK and US Live and The Games

Channel 4 had been faced with something of a dilemma when deciding to make the switch: it already had in place a long-running agreement with Sky - for carriage of E4 as a pay TV channel until 2008. In order to negotiate the barrier, C4 said today that E4 would continue to broadcast encrypted via satellite for the foreseeable future. - poor Satellite viewers .

"We’ve always said we would take E4 free-to-air when this represented the best opportunity for its future development and growth," said Dan Brooke, Controller of Digital Strategy at Channel 4. "We’re delighted to be continuing our relationship with Sky Digital, Britain’s biggest digital TV platform, as well as joining its fastest growing one."

E4 has been available on DTT throughTop Up TV since March 2004but will withdraw from the lineup before it goes free-to-air at the end of next month. Top Up TV are let to fill this space.

Channel 4 has serveral free broadcast spaces on Freeview, and is widely expected to secure yet another from the transmission company Crown Castle. At least one has already been earmarked for More 4, a new factual channel thats launching in October.

did not see that happening The DTT week of the year if not since The Freeview launch in 2001 or Top Up TV (2004). with ITV and Chanel 4 announcing new channels. SDN is the operator that houses 10 streams of which include all Top Up TV streams thats sublet by Five as they did not have any interest at the time

maybe ITV Digital round 2 they were here before Freeview and they went out of business (ITV Digital) .and RIP Top Up TV

The battle to claim territory on the digital terrestrial platform has intensified further today with ITV's acquisition of SDN.The broadcaster has paid £134 million in cash for the multiplex operator, plus an additional 15 million dependent upon the outcome of Ofcom’s ruling relating to the pricing of the five channels licensed by SDN to Channel 5/ Five. SDN holds the licence to operate DTT multiplex A, which currently broadcasts ten channels: Five, QVC/S4C, UKTV Gold/Boomerang, Bid TV/S4C2, Price-Drop TV/Screenshop, TCM/ABC1, Discovery/Discovery H&L, Teletext Holidays, UKTV Style/Cartoon Network and xtraview.ITV CEO Charles Allen said that the acquisition would initially provide the company with carriage revenues but crucially, on a long-term basis, the potential to launch more of its own channels on Freeview."This acquisition is another step in ITV’s strategic development and positions it well for future growth," he explained.The ten channels are currently on contract through 2010, after which ITV will be free to use the space as it desires. A spokesman added that new technological advances could see an eleventh channel introduced in 2007.

Freeview news today is like gold dust - May going to be a busy month on Freeview with the Channel 4 offering and also now ITV launching 'ITV 4' at 6pm on May 2nd (next Tuesday) going to launch 'ITV 4: Men and Motors' temperory till ITV 4 proper comes.

Men and Motors ideally something else like ITVi cause the reputation M&M has M&M freeview is 'to be different' to there sky version broadcasting now which closes about 4am 2nd May on Sky Digital.

ITV 4 proper to be launched at a later date is to be a 'young males channel' aka M&M type channel and is rumored to have a CITV Channel as well during the Day ITV's rival to the CBBC Channel and Cbeebies the date for this is as let unknown and is not confirmed.

Early 2005 Channel 4 and ITV were successful with the Crown Castle yets bid for New slots competition at an cost of 5 million plus each Crown Castle have now found 2 more slots at least and both channel are being gready to try and get more space - Crown Castle is getting this year a minimium of 10 million without these channels in profits.

Comment: personally ITV and Channel 4 (who both got 5 slots on freeview) should be banned and 2 newcomers to freeview
